For students applying for kindergarten, we use a kindergarten developmental readiness test which takes about 30-45 minutes to administer. It measures developmental skills such as manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination, as well as cognitive skills such as counting and letter recognition. This testing begins in the spring. If you enroll earlier than that, we hold a seat for your child until the admission testing and interview process can be completed.
We require you to provide two years' of standardized test scores (one year in the case of students entering grade 1 or 2). If you cannot provide test scores, or if the Administration requests it, we will administer our admission test. Our test will consist of the reading and math portions of the Stanford Achievement Test.
Our teachers must meet the standards for certification through the Association of Christian Schools International, which requires a four-year degree, as well as additional credits in the Philosophy of Christian Education and Bible. In addition, many of our teachers hold state teaching certification. Our teachers are born-again believers who feel called by God to teach in a Christian school.
