Welcome to Southwest Florida Christian Academy’s Elementary School where gifted and caring teachers and staff partner with Christian parents in the education of students in the context of a biblical worldview. The well-rounded, phonics-based instructional program provides students in grades kindergarten through second grades a solid foundation for reading and writing, while developing higher level thinking and problem solving skills in the areas of math, science and social science. This foundational learning is then built upon in grades three through five where students are challenged at a higher reading level and are taught how to be critical thinkers and problem solvers.
In addition to the core academic subjects, students in elementary school are provided a variety of practical and performing arts opportunities, as well as classes in physical education, technology, Spanish and library/media. In grades four and five, team teaching is utilized to begin preparing students for the transition into middle school.
Every subject in the elementary program is taught within a biblical framework and complemented with daily Bible instruction, weekly chapels and a yearly “missions focus” week. Varieties of extracurricular opportunities are also provided including intramural sports, track and field, and pep squad. Every component of the program is designed to develop students mentally, spiritually, physically, and socially during these critical foundational years of students’ lives.
