-The family should be actively involved in a Bible teaching church, and the parents must support SFCA's doctrinal position and Statement of Faith.

-· The student must demonstrate a pattern of achievement on standardized testing that indicates that he/she is prepared to succeed in the grade level at which they are applying by providing the last two years of test results.  Applicants must score at the 50^th percentile or higher on an approved standardized achievement test.

- The student must have a "C" average or 2.0 GPA in the present school year as indicated on a current report card or transcript.

- The student must have a satisfactory citizenship record in the school they are presently attending as indicated on a current report card and/or reference form.

- The student must have provided three completed recommendation forms (one reference from the current language arts teacher, one from the current math teacher,  and one spiritual reference).

- The student must have a desire to attend Southwest Florida Christian Academy and be willing to comply with the school's standards as printed in the Student Handbook and on the application for enrollment.

Nondiscriminatory Policy

Southwest Florida Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and financial aid programs, athletics and other school administered programs.

Admissions Procedures

The following procedures must be followed for the application to be processed in a timely fashion.  Before you begin, be sure you understand the admissions guidelines, the basic purposes and objectives of our school, and our Statement of Faith.

1. Apply online or pick up a paper application in the SFCA office.

2. Distribute the reference forms to the appropriate people.

3. Fill out all information as indicated on the application and submit it along with the applicable fees. (No application will be processed without these fees.)

4. Please submit a copy of your child's current report card with your application. Home schooled students should submit a summary of the student's grades in each subject along with the curriculum being used. A Home School Transcript Form should be requested from the SFCA Registrar and completed by the parent.

5. If a student's natural parents are divorced, a copy of custody papers must be provided.

6. Submit a copy of the last two year’s standardized test scores.  The Administration will review the test scores, and if necessary will contact you to set up an admission testing appointment date.

7. Upon  receipt of test scores, report cards, and references, a family interview will be scheduled for the parents and student with the Administration.

8. You will receive a letter of acceptance when your application is approved.

9. We will send for official records/transcripts from the previous school attended at the end of the current school year.

10. Each student will be required to furnish the school with valid immunization records, a physical exam form, and a copy of his/her birth certificate (prior to the first day of school). All HRS requirements for immunizations must be met.

11. If SFCA does not have a program to meet the needs of a student, his/her request for admission will be denied and all monies paid, except for the application fee, will be refunded. In any other circumstance, the fees and/or tuition paid are not refundable.

Guidelines for Home School Students Completing AP Courses

1. Students must complete the admission process in its entirety in order to be considered for AP courses at SFCA.
2. Students must read and adhere to the guidelines outlined in SFCA’s Student Handbook.
3. A list of required textbook(s) will be given to the student and must be purchased prior to the start of the AP course. 
4. Students must be on campus no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of class and must be picked up no later than 10 minutes following the completion of the class.
5. Students are required to participate in at least two chapels per month.  If there is a gap of time between the end of the AP class and the start of chapel, the student must report to a designated study hall until chapel begins.
6. Students must be in school uniform.  Uniforms are to be purchased through the Sunshine Uniform Company.   Used uniforms are also available through the uniform closet on campus.  Jeans may only be worn on Wednesdays.
7. Students must meet the prerequisite course requirement as indicated through the SFCA Guidance Department.
8. No refunds will be granted if the course is not completed, is failed or if it is dropped administratively or by the student.

Admission Procedures for Home School Students

1. Complete the application for admission. 
2. Distribute Student Education Reference form and Student Spiritual Reference form to the appropriate people and request them to mail or fax them directly to SFCA, or return them with the completed application packet.  (Fax: 239-936-7095) 
3. Submit the $90 registration fee, which will be applied to the AP testing fee required by the College Board.
4. Include with the application packet:  a transcript of grades which will be used to determine the student’s readiness for the rigor of an AP class as well as the completion of any required prerequisite courses.
5. A  Family Interview with the student, parent and administration will be arranged. 
6. The deadline for application is August 10.
7. SFCA will make a decision about admission and will communicate that decision to the family.
8. The student must bring his/her health records to a local doctor who will complete the Florida Certificate of Immunization card and the School Health Entry Form.  These must be on file prior to starting school. (The local Health Department can also issue the Florida Immunization Card.)  

1. The student must demonstrate a high level of academic ability, self-discipline, study skills, and motivation based on academic records and references.
2. The student must demonstrate emotional stability and maturity based on references and personal interview.
3. The student must score a 50% or higher on the Secondary Language English Proficiency (SLEP) test or a comparable approved test.
4. English language proficiency is required for a student to earn credits in our courses, which require extensive reading and comprehension skills.  SFCA does not offer an ESOL program; therefore students must have sufficient proficiency to understand the material with the help of limited assistance through one on one tutoring after school. 
5. The student should provide a writing sample (completed without assistance).  A reading comprehension and essay assignment will also be sent to the student via email.
6. The student must agree to abide by all discipline policies as outlined in the Student Handbook and on the Student Agreement of Conduct Form in the enrollment package. Parents and host family must agree to support the discipline policies of the school as well.
7. The student will abide by SFCA’s Statement of Faith.
8. Any misrepresentation on the part of the student, parents, or referring agency will be grounds for non-admission and/or dismissal.  Any fees paid would be non-refundable, and a withdrawal fee will be assessed. 
9. The student must provide proof of health insurance.
10. The student will be required to receive additional help such as private tutoring or an English as a Second Language course.  It will be at the student’s own expense and on the student’s own time.   If the student is making successful academic progress, the additional assistance may be reduced or discontinued. 
11. The student must have a stable living arrangement with a relative or family friend, or a host family that has been arranged through an SFCA approved, licensed international student exchange program.  SFCA does not arrange housing or provide transportation. 
12. Continuance in the program after the first year is not guaranteed.  An evaluation of the student’s progress will determine eligibility for re-enrollment.
